For over 55 years, The Second City has been the leader in teaching students of all ages and from all walks of life the skills of improvisation, comedy writing and performing. The classes are dedicated to helping students develop their artistic voice, both individually and within an ensemble, and to providing the tools and techniques needed to express that voice.
Workshops as well as Educational Programs and Residencies are offered. Workshops include a Beginning/Kids Workshop, focusing on teaching students the building blocks of improvisation, an Improv for Actors Workshop, focusing on teaching students scenic improvisation, and The Master Class Workshops, which instruct others about the art of comedic improvisation. The Second City is also happy to work on an extended basis in communities in a residency-type program that is custom-made for your educational needs.
