Event Info

Jade Presents and Merrill Piepkorn are pleased to announce the Bluestem 50th Anniversary of Peace and Music, a two-day celebration featuring local music, food, and craft vendors.

In August 1969, the Woodstock Music & Art Fair took place on a dairy farm in Bethel, NY. Over half a million people came to a 600-acre farm to hear 32 acts (leading and emerging performers of the time) play over the course of four days (August 15-18). Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, the Grateful Dead, the Who, Janis Joplin and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young were among the lineup. Woodstock is known as one of the greatest happenings of all time and –perhaps- the most pivotal moment in music history.

The following performers will be showcasing tributes to original Woodstock artists, with more to be announced:

Jennifer Lyn & The Groove Revival – Jefferson Airplane
Post-Traumatic Funk Syndrome – Blood, Sweat & Tears
Diane Miller – Janis Joplin
Jessie Veeder – Joan Baez
Richard Torrance – Santana
The Quarterly – The Grateful Dead
Ron Kerber – Creedance Clearwater Revival
Jake Ingamar – Tim Hardin
The Town and Country Band – Canned Heat
The Shuttles – The Who
Merrill Piepkorn & The Radio Stars Band – Butterfield Blues Band
The Vistas and Friends – Jimi Hendrix
Gregg (Smokey) Temple – John Sebastian
Big & Hungry – Country Joe & The Fish
The Human Element – Sly & The Family Stone
Torrance/Temple/Piepkorn – Crosby Stills and Nash

The event will also feature local food and craft vendors along with a collection of 1960s Volkswagen Buses on display, a tribute to Vietnam veterans, and a psychedelic art show.
